Ah, the start of a three-day weekend. I like this work schedule. Had time to make crepes today! That was tasty. Also planning to go to a Middle Eastern culture festival this afternoon and then dinner with Bob.

I actually met someone new from work! Someone else who moved to this town instead of having grown up here. And sure enough, he was as desperate to find someone else around here as we have been. I'm going to try to give him a call this afternoon and see if he wants to get together tomorrow and do a cookout at the nearby state park or something. Downside is that it costs money to get your car in. Oh, well, we'll offer to pick him up and front the cost. :)

Silly Nathan. Reinstalled his system on Wednesday and forgot to reconfigure printing stuff. Need printer so I can print out directions to Middle Eastern culture festival.

Grrr..

XP was supposed to work well. Maybe it's too abusive to expect it to handle a tablet with mouse and stylus, the built-in touchpad and eraser-mouse pointing devices, my MS optical mouse, and the Kensington laptop mouse with the retractable cord. Nothing seems to be working correctly. Okay, so maybe I haven't rebooted in a couple weeks. That shouldn't affect anything. Also, ever since plugging in that mini-mouse, I'm getting the annoying after-effect of having my pointer jump to the default button in a dialog box. Yes, I know this is a feature that can be turned off in the control panel. It *is* turned off. And yet I still get the astoundingly frustrating jump.

I wish XP would just work.
