Nov. 14th, 2002 09:24 pmGood news, my uncle's kidney surgery went well today and this evening he was awake enough to talk to everyone who came over. It was really sheer luck that they found the growth at all. An especially perceptive technician performing a routine sonogram looking at arteries or something (my uncle's company offers them annually, and while he usually passes up this time he decided to go for it) noticed something that didn't look right and suggested he have someone take a closer look. He did, it turned out to be [cue ominous music] Cancer, and as a result he had that kidney removed today. My mom said they took out the right one, so that's a good thing, and everything seems to be going smoothly so far. Everyone in my family seems to be developing medical problems this year...
