Huh, interesting. The list formerly known as "Friend of:" is now known as "Read/Trusted by:" in everyone's lj userinfo page. I like the change. :)

Hm. Maybe because you have your "Friend of:" hidden to everyone else?

Hrm, I didn't think that it would matter if they were changing the code....the fact that my page is in Dutch is probably more of an issue......

Your page is in Dutch? Awesome! I noticed the name change; do you have your LJ default language set to Dutch or something? That might be it, then, if they haven't translated the new text to every language yet.

Sorry, didn't have the chance to respond to this yet...

Yep, my default language is Dutch :-)

And yet the other list is still known as "Friends." Interesting; you'd think they would have changed both if they were going to change either.

Yeah, you'd think... I'm guessing since it was done today (I barely skimmed the comment flood on [livejournal.com profile] news, but the first comment on the change was on page 6, dated today), it's still a work in progress.

hmm.. now what will we do for a verb when we "friend" and "unfriend" people? assuming they're going to change the other to match.

Nathan mentioned a while ago that the "friends" list should really be more of a "contacts" list, anyway. Orkut seems to have the same (faulty) terminology, using "friend" to mean "first-degree contact person". Wonder if they got it mostly from LJ? They should have a way to list friends as "friend", "co-worker", "classmate", or just generic "acquaintance" or "associate" or something.

Maybe, "Your associates page has been updated. You can view your new page here." Does that mean you'd then dissociate from people? ;)

Likewise, AIM has a Buddy List while ICQ has a Contact List.

Mine still says "Friend of:" too. Perhaps it's a paid account thing?

*blink* No, now mine's back to "Friend of:", too. Must've been just a trial or something...
